Firms are responsible for the accuracy of their listing information. Sovereign Whale reviews listings before approval and re-reviews Verified listings at renewal. If you notice information that appears outdated or incorrect, use the report function on the listing or contact us directly.

Filters are available on our directory search results page. You can filter by category, jurisdiction served, and listing tier.

Each listing includes the firm’s areas of specialty, jurisdictions covered, and a description of their services. Verified listings include additional detail gathered during the verification process. If you are unsure, the best approach is to make direct contact using the contact details or inquiry form on the listing.

Look at the jurisdictions the firm covers, their stated specializations, and how long they have been operating. For Verified listings, the badge indicates the firm has passed a structured review. Pay attention to how clearly and specifically they describe their services. Vague or overly broad descriptions are worth noting.

Standard listings pass a basic legitimacy check before going live. Verified listings go through a full due diligence process and are displayed above Standard listings in search results. The Verified badge signals a higher level of scrutiny, not an endorsement.

Listings are reviewed at the time of approval and at renewal. If a firm becomes inactive between those points, there may be a lag before removal. If you encounter a listing that appears inactive, please report it so we can follow up.

Yes. Each listing includes the firm’s contact details, including phone and email where provided, as well as a contact form that goes directly to the firm. Sovereign Whale receives a copy of all inquiries submitted through the directory.

Yes. Reviews are moderated before they appear on a listing. Moderation checks for relevance, authenticity, and compliance with our review policy.

There is no in-platform save function. You can use your browser’s standard bookmark feature to save listings for later.

No. Our directory is fully accessible without creating an account or logging in.

Standard listings pass a basic legitimacy check before going live. Verified listings go through a full review process covering credentials, regulatory standing, key stakeholder background, public reputation, a direct call with a member of the Sovereign Whale team, and a test inquiry through the firm’s public contact channel. Verified listings are reviewed quarterly.

It signals that the firm has been reviewed against a defined set of criteria and has passed that review at the time of verification. It is not a guarantee of service quality and is not an endorsement by Sovereign Whale.

No. Verification means the firm met the criteria applied at the time of review. Sovereign Whale does not endorse firms or recommend them to readers.

Verified listings appear above Standard listings in all search results and category pages.

Any firm holding an active Standard listing may apply for verification. There is no limit on how many professionals from one firm may hold Verified status.

New applicants can apply through the Add Listing page. Existing Standard listing holders can upgrade directly from their account dashboard or contact us for assistance.

The process includes a credentials and qualifications check, verification of regulatory standing where applicable, background review of key stakeholders, screening for adverse media and public reputation issues, a direct call with a member of the Sovereign Whale team, and a test inquiry through the firm’s public contact channel. How a firm responds to that test inquiry is part of the assessment.

Typically 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of the firm and how promptly documentation is provided.

Verification is not a one-time process. The subscription renews monthly, and Sovereign Whale conducts a full due diligence re-review every four months to ensure continued compliance with listing standards.

If your Verified subscription lapses, your listing reverts to Standard status. The Verified badge is removed and the listing moves to Standard placement in search results.

You will be notified of the outcome. In some cases, we may indicate what is required before reapplication. 

Yes. Appeals can be submitted in writing within 30 days of receiving the decision. Include any additional documentation you believe is relevant. Appeals are reviewed by a member of the Sovereign Whale team not involved in the original assessment.

Yes. Verified status can be revoked at any time if a firm no longer meets the criteria applied at verification, if new adverse information comes to light, or if the firm fails a re-review. The listing will revert to Standard status or be removed entirely, depending on the circumstances.

Articles are written by our Sovereign Whale team and commissioned editorial contributors with relevant professional backgrounds. Guest contributions from practitioners in the field are also published where they meet editorial criteria.

AI is used as a writing and editing tool. All content is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. 

No. Search result placement is determined by listing tier and relevance, not by payment. Editorial content is not available for purchase. Sponsored content is available separately and is always clearly labeled as such.

Editorial content includes articles written by Sovereign Whale and approved guest contributions from practitioners in the field. In both cases, the content is not paid for and no third party influences the topic, angle, or conclusions.

Sponsored content is paid placement. The sponsoring firm proposes the topic and provides the underlying content. Sovereign Whale reviews and edits it for factual accuracy and relevance before publication, and it is clearly labeled as sponsored at the top of the article.

Both categories are held to the same factual standards. The distinction is who paid for the placement.

Revenue comes from Verified listing subscriptions ($99 per month) and sponsored content accepted on a case-by-case basis. Neither affects editorial content or listing placement.

Potential conflicts are disclosed where relevant. Sovereign Whale does not hold financial interests in any listed firm and does not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage.

Factual corrections are always welcome and will be reviewed promptly. Requests to change editorial framing, tone, or conclusions are not acted on.
