Rupert Law Group is an immigration law firm based in Los Angeles, California, built around a single focus, the E1 and E2 treaty visa categories. Our founder, Angie Rupert, has spent over two decades practicing law, and for the past ten years she has concentrated almost exclusively on treaty investor and treaty trader visas. We made a deliberate choice early on to specialize rather than generalize. Most immigration firms handle a wide range of visa categories. We handle two, and we handle them in depth.
That focus shapes how we work. E2 and E1 cases turn on details that broader practices can overlook, the structure of a qualifying investment, the source and trail of investment funds, the line between an “active” enterprise and a passive one, and the marginality standard that separates a real operating business from a token one. We see these issues constantly, across clients from dozens of treaty countries and industries ranging from app development to food importing to manufacturing, so we recognize the patterns that lead to approval and the ones that lead to a denial or a Request for Evidence.
We also work differently from many firms in how we stay involved. Where some practices process applications and move on, we stay close to our clients through every stage, the initial consultation, the business and investment planning, the document preparation, the interview, and the renewals that follow years later. Investors who have worked with other immigration attorneys before coming to us often tell us the difference is in how much we communicate and how available we are when questions come up.
